Contemporary Chinese Characteristics of Research on Journalism Theory

Abstract: In the past 40 years of reform and opening up, the study of journalism theory in China has made great progress, and also presents typical Chinese characteristics. This paper comprehensively summarizes the contemporary Chinese characteristics of journalism theory research from four aspects: object, subject, methodology and results. It is proposed that only by recognizing, respecting and cultivating Chinese characteristics can we constantly enrich and improve the construction of Chinese journalism theoretical system with Chinese characteristics, Chinese style and Chinese manner.
